A proud resident of Downers Grove since 2011.

My husband and I, along with our two kids, left city living in search of a great community with quality schools to raise our family. We fell in love with Downers Grove. I have a 5th grader at Henry Puffer and a 7th grader at Herrick Middle School. I've been actively involved at my kids' school and PTA. I have been regularly attending school board meetings and communicating with the board on various issues in District 58 for the last 4 years. I have shared district news with parents through various channels in order to keep everyone informed and engaged. I believe in public education and quality programs for ALL our kids. When I'm not driving my kids to sports or activities, I like to read and co-host a parenting podcast for WGN Radio called "uh-PARENT-ly".

All decisions will be made with a "kids first" attitude.

Our district needs to be pro-active and not reactive.

Transparency and communication among all stakeholders.

Address our aging buildings to provide students effective learning environments.

Evidence based decisions for any district initiatives in order to build support with all stakeholders.

Fiscal responsibility while meeting the educational needs of DG58 students.

Equitable experiences among all 11 elementary and 2 middle schools while still giving neighborhood schools autonomy.

Nurture kids to build 21st century skills: collaboration, communication, critical thinking, creative innovation, and confidence.

Curriculum updates need to be done with fidelity and teachers and students should be properly supported.

Keep district accountable for the DG58 Strategic Plan and goals.

Actively engage and support teachers who are in the classroom every day.

Continually look for exemplars in surrounding districts to remain competitive.

Build community engagement to improve our schools by talking openly about not just our "successes" but our "challenges" too.
